I am a Sports Med/Lifestyle Med physician as well as a Life Coach and Health and Wellbeing Coach. Working as a non surgeon in orthopedic practice, with male surgeons, has presented some imposter syndrome. Coaching has helped me overcome this, and enabled me to help others to as well. I am a lifelong athlete, and love to empower women to find their inner athlete as well, and find their identity beyond athletics.
I have worked in an orthopedic practice since graduating fellowship, with male surgeons. Being the only female physician, and a non surgeon, presented immense psycological stress on me when dealing with patients and the other physicians. I also suffered the loss of my 10 month old son, after moving closer to family, being in financial ruin, and taking on a job that was not ideal for me. I faced all of these things at once, and “pushed through” it. I returned to my previous practice, moved further from family, and my spouse decided to stay home. The stress of financial burden was only eased when I found coaching.
